The Cercle de Voile de Marseillan is a sports club and a sailing school approved by the French Sailing Federation. At the CVM,  you can practice sailing. A sport accessible to all and supervised by a team of professional instructors. Located in Marseillan, 50 km from Montpellier, you will sail on a lagoon, the Etang de Thau, a unique, safe and pleasant area, classified Natura 2000.

For more than 20 years, the Cercle de Voile de Marseillan has opened its doors to all those who wish to learn or improve their sailing skills. Access to this sport is still expensive, and the Marseillan club aims to make it more accessible by facilitating access to this practice.
In a relaxed and family atmosphere, the association grows with its members and all the people who come to have a good time.

Attila

Attila, employee and base leader of the CVM, defines this place as “a place of exchange, mutual help, with moments of sharing”. Where the more experienced give advice to the younger ones.

The club offers an annual membership with training for young people in competition and training to become a sailing instructor. With the CVM, you can discover the sensations of sailing on the water and become a real sailor.
If you don’t dare to take the plunge, go and read our article “getting started in sailing” to discover all the pleasures and benefits.

The club’s activities

During the months of May and June, the association opens its doors to local schools and organises sea classes. This is an opportunity to make the younger generation aware of sailing, a new environment and new sensations. It is also a way to make the pupils evolve in conditions that they know more or less. A way to challenge them.

This possibility offered to school classes is in line with the project of Louis Burton. The French sailor who came third in the last edition of the Vendée Globe.
With his partners, Louis Burton has launched an educational kit: “I discover the world with Louis Burton” for primary school classes in connection with the teaching of first to fifth grade”.

This is a way of raising children’s awareness of the marine environment and its ecological challenges in an entertaining way. The sea classes support this project by giving concrete form to what the pupils can follow and see in class or on the media.
