Covid-19 – Measures for traveling to Portugal

1) Arrival in Portugal by plane

PORTUGAL MAINLAND

AUTHORIZED
Countries of the European Union or of a State associated with the Schengen Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland)
Brazil, United States and United Kingdom;
Countries whose flights for non-essential travel are permitted subject to mutual confirmation: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru , Qatar, People’s Republic of China, Rwanda and Uruguay, as well as the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao and Taiwan.

Flights from countries not mentioned are authorized exclusively for “essential travel”, i.e. to allow the entry into Portugal of citizens traveling for professional purposes, studies and family reunification, and for health or humanitarian reasons.

2) Arrival in Portugal by land

It is mandatory to present the EU COVID digital certificate. Citizens who do not hold the Digital Covid EU certificate in the modalities of vaccination, test or recovery, will have to present proof of a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test, carried out within the last 72 hours, or a rapid antigen test (TRAg), performed within the last 24 hours.

In the case of travel by land, each traveler must find out about the measures and restrictions existing in each of the transit countries, directly from their authorities.

3) Arrival in Portugal by sea

The rules are the same as for air travel.
All passengers must complete the Passenger Locator Form (individual), available electronically at https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-maritime-card< /a>, 96 hours before the scheduled time of arrival in mainland Portugal.
