2 – Mehdia
Located 30km north of Rabat, Mehdia is the birthplace of surfing in Morocco in the 1960s. The spot offers a rather heavy and hollow wave but by moving away a little, you can find waves easier to surf. A spot that can be visited all year round, the temperature never drops below 20 degrees.
3 – Taghazout
15 km from Agadir, Taghazout spots such as Pointe des Ancres, Le Boiler, Mysteries… Are a must for surfers on a trip to Morocco! Spots adapted to different levels to satisfy all types of surfers. The region enjoys a constant swell from October to April, which is the high surfing season in Morocco. The summer period continues to delight surfers, especially beginners, looking for quieter swell conditions.
4 – Imsouane
A little corner of surfing paradise with its fine sandy beaches and super waves. Located in a small fishing village, the surfers have settled in this village on the Atlantic coast with its panoramic views. Some people will even say that this spot is home to the most beautiful wave in the world, long and suitable for all levels.
5 – Dakhla
Dakhla is Morocco’s flagship destination for all lovers of water sports: kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing or even stand up paddle. In the heart of the Sahara, between lagoon, desert and ocean, a spot that will change your mind !
6 – Essaouira
Water sports lovers do not miss the beautiful town of the Trade Winds, surfing sessions under the eyes of camels on the beach of Tagharte. An ideal spot if you are a beginner and where you can have fun as a more experienced surfer. The surfing sessions at the end of the day are particularly incredible, under the sunset. You will leave Essaouira with a change of landscape from your daily life, that’s for sure !
